Notices to all Members:
(1) The
AWA board of directors is made up of volunteer members elected by
the membership at reunions.
Three slots are vacant and many of the current board members
have been serving for over ten years. Board members organize
the reunions every two years, keep the member database and
website current, answer queries from members and others,
publish and mail newsletters, collect dues/donations and act
on new initiatives that come from members. They
also award the John and Barbara Collens AWA awards annually to
the HQ USAF selected Air Force Weather Outstanding Individuals
of the Year.
Nominations for new board members are greatly needed. Please
consider volunteering and/or excite others that have the
time/energy to help out.
Nominations can be submitted to any board member at anytime.
(2) An annual newsletter is published and mailed (depending on
available volunteers)
to all members. However, to save costs, members who provide
email addresses will receive newsletters via email.
Newsletters will also be available on the website. Therefore,
please remember
to forward address and other data changes as soon as possible to
our volunteer AWA Locator. Please include the same information as
detailed on the membership
application - including any changes to the "Release of
Information" section.
(3) Tax deductible
contributions are always accepted by the Treasurer to help defray
costs of publishing newsletters, mailing, website fees and
providing the annual John and Barbara Collens AWA Award grants to
the Outstanding AF Weather personnel of the Year.
(4) The Newsletter Editor
would appreciate member news submissions at anytime and the
Webmaster would appreciate items to be posted on http://www.airweaassn.org at
anytime.
(5) A roster of members is
available on the website and updated periodically. It is in
the member's only section requiring a username and password.
These are provided to members in their welcome letter and can be
obtained from the webmaster via email. If you detect any
errors in the roster or you know the address of missing members,
please inform Steve Walden as soon as possible to help ensure the
AWA locator database is current and accurate.
