My name is John Webb and I was in AWS from 1963 to 1971
and my last duty assignment was 6th WX Sqd (Mobile) at Tinker AFB.
I also served in Vietnam with AWS from 1965 to 1968.
When the WTC was attacked, about 3 days later I wrote a song called "Let's
Roll America" that was partially inspired by the events that took
place on Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania.
I then had it recorded with my oldest son and my daughter doing the vocals.
I placed it on www.soundclick.com
which is an internet site for independent songwriters and musicians and
it went almost immediately to No. 1 on the Country Charts. It stayed
there from Oct 2001 to June 2002 and it still is at No. 5. It is
a very uplifting song and I thought you might want to listen to it and
perhaps mention it in your newsletter or even provide a link to it.
I make nothing from this song and when people request a CD I donate the
money to one of the WTC Funds.
Over 120 WTC and Flight 93 Memorial Sites have placed this song on their
site and The Todd Beamer foundation is supposedly going to include it
on their CD.
You can find the song at:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/tonyandshanne_music.htm
Please let me know if you were able to find the song and play it.
I have had some people who were unable to do so.
Thanking you in advance,
John Webb
