This page has three photos from the 2nd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron (2 WRS) and one from the 514th Reconnaissance Squadron (Very Long Range, Weather) (514 RS-VLR) courtesy of the AFWA History Office and Bernie Barris. The 2 WRS mission was to fly weather route reconnaissance over the Hump, from Barrackpore/Gushkara India to Kunming China and synoptic flights over the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal. 2WRS was constituted, 20 Jan 1944, activated, 1 Feb 1944, redesignated 2 Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, Medium, 20 Jul 1944, and inactivated, 28 Dec 1945.
